Testing a Charging System With a Carbon-Pile Load Tester
A carbon-pile load tester can be used to test the maximum current output of a charging system. To keep this video simple, I didn't mention that there would be about 20 more amps flowing to the running vehicle that are not accounted for on the gauge. So, you could approximate your total current by adding 20 amps to your reading.

Can I Reuse My Engine Bolts?
Переглядів 20 тис.3 роки тому
Both of these engine bolts look exactly the same, yet one of them must not be reused. What is a torque to yield bolt? Why do they need to be replaced with new bolts every time? How can you tell if your bolt has "yielded?"
Finding CAN Bus Signal Errors
Переглядів 13 тис.4 роки тому
This video shows you how you can use the PicoScope software to identify specific points in your CAN bus voltage signals that may result in a failed message. If you are looking for an intermittent or noisy signal, this tool can be helpful in quickly identifying problems.
Accurately Diagnosing a Mass Airflow Sensor
Переглядів 44 тис.4 роки тому
A lot of people don't completely understand mass airflow sensors and how to tell if they are working properly or not. Because of this, a lot of MAF sensors get replaced that probably had nothing wrong with them. This video explains how to use OBD II data to definitively diagnose a MAF sensor.
Overlaying Multiple Waveforms on the PicoScope (Reference Waveforms)
Переглядів 6 тис.4 роки тому
In the PicoScope software, you can create a reference waveform from any waveform that you have, and then you can overlay it onto other waveforms so that you can compare and contrast them. This video explains how to do that, as well as how to line up the waveforms for easier comparison.

My Honda ATV has the last diode you tested and one of the legs is marked with a plus + sign. I put the red lead on that side and black on the other and got OL, i switched them and got .532? It seems mine is operating backward. Is that possible?

Sometimes bearings can be really tricky. Ours is exactly as that loud as that but when you jack up the car and flex on the wheels its hard to find any play at all. So test driving is the best

For those that didn’t know what a CV was(including myself): “A constant-velocity joint (also called a CV joint) is a mechanical coupling which allows the shafts to rotate freely.” -Wikipedia. Basically it allows your driveshaft to rotate and power your wheels

my car does this all the time, generally what causes it is the rubber boots that keep dust out and grease in, get damaged. when this happens, the lack of grease, and the dust getting in, causes the cv joints wear and make this noise
